ZestCash Looks to Take Advantage of Rising Demand for Short-Term Emergency Loans - American Banker Article
ZestCash was created in 2009 to offer loans to people that its credit engine finds reliable, but who would probably not qualify for a bank loan. Merrill, the former CIO of Google (GOOG), co-founded ZestCash with Shawn Budde, the former head of subprime cards at Capital One (COF).

Bauer Type Foundry's "Family Tree of Printing Types"

Steven Heller:
“In 1937, on the 100th anniversary of the founding of The Bauer Type Foundry in 1837, was issued “Bauer’s Family Tree of Printing Types.” The beautifully illustrated and precisely lettered arbor may not be entirely accurate, history-wise, but it is a delightful way of learning about the lineage of type.
For your enjoyment, I reproduce the tree in parts and as a whole, as well as the text, which was set in in Elizabeth Roman and Italic. Just think how tall the tree would be today 75 years (if my math is correct) later.”

Infographic and Statistics on Seamless Ordering Behavior in 2011
I really love seamless. Suddenly in the last three months the company (or its advertising) has been popping up all over Chicago and the web. And then, of course, the requisite start-up-year-in-review scroll down infographic.
The latest in consumer healthcare tools available as smartphone apps. Extra excited about the breathing exercise app in combo with movement monitor - sounds like a rehab platform for COPD patients. (via What Dr. Smartphone Can Do For You | Fast Company)
